Andrea Russo

Andrea is a geologist from the Universidad di Napoli (Italy) and holds a PhD in Geology from Heidelberg University. He has 24 years of experience in the mining industry. He has work in porphyry copper deposits such as El Teniente and Chuquicamata underground, epithermal deposits and kimberlites in mining operations of open pits and underground mines in Chile, Brazil, Ecuador, Canada, Senegal, Russia, USA and South Africa gaining wide-ranging experience in geotechnical characterization of rock mass according to the Bieniawski, Laubscher, Laubscher and Jakubec, Grimstad and Barton and Hoek et al. classification systems, as well as definition and characterization of structural domains, property estimation of intact rock of the rock mass, caving analysis and fragmentation, stability analysis of wedges, etc. He has authored 30 publications and has active participation in international congresses.
